• Our Great Grandfather:

Wojciech Kula immigrated to the USA from Jablonica, Poland in 1903. My cousin paid a Polish genealogist to locate his birth certificate, so we know his father & mother's names but didn't go further back.
Mother: Maryana Biewnacko (Marion Biernacka)

Father: Josef Kula

Arrived in New York City on July 4, 1903 on a ship from Bremen, Germany.

He worked in the mines in Pennsylvania after arrival. He became sick (lungs) from the work and so went to Manchester, NH where he had an uncle (Andrew Kula) who had a farm there.

He met his wife, Anna Marek, in Manchester, NH.

They were married on June 14, 1907 in Manchester.

There was also a successful potato farmer in upstate NY at the time who was a relative, but we don’t have any information on him.

•  Our Great Grandmother:

Anna Kula born and raised in Galacia, Poland, however, became Austrian when Austria took over Poland during the war.  She immigrated to the USA and settled in Manchester, NH with two sisters.

Mother: Julianna Zarnoska

Father:  Tomasz Marek

They had three children:

John Albert Kula, May 17, 1909

Josephine Kula, December 13, 1911

Stanley Kula, October 25, 1913
